I will give a little less,
To protect myself,
Of all the chats we had,
Of all the stories and thoughts I shared,
I was left wanting for something I could never get or have,
I was left wondering why did I allow myself to expect?
Why did I get accustomed to it all, when I knew I would not get what I wished for!
Now I choose to stay quiet, not share that much,
Be more formal and just acknowledge your words,
When deep inside I hurt, when I want to express the way I really feel,
But, I need to hold back, because I am not sure you will be able or willing to handle the weight of it all.
I might be wrong, I might be right.
You may know deep inside what's really going on or I may assume that you don't tell me all!
But, for the time being, I will protect myself and share a little less....
